Season has started!
Zandvoort, March BDI=7. It feels great to be back on the beach at my beach club Tyn Akersloot that is still very much in the middle of building up. It's not that sunny, but it is very clear. How many days will I spend here this season? I think a lot.
Executive First Class
Toronto - Frankfurt, Air Canada, March 12th. It's two days after my planned return, and I am in a first class seat. It's so much fun to fly first class. What a pity it's only 7 hours flying today, I could easily have spent here another 7 hours. Too bad that I had to make a connection at FRA which is absolute hell.
Battery Empty: Toronto Island
Toronto, March 12th. I am waking up after having volunteered for the second time to not fly and make some money. It is a beautiful day, cold but clear. I am taking the ferry to the Island in front of Toronto and I am surprised how nice it is. It is such a serene day, beautiful for photography ... but ... damn ... battery emtpy. Dont you hate it when that happens. With a lot of shaking I push out 3 more photo's. How wonderful this island must be in the summer to have this -artificial- beach, even swimming is possible and the water doesn't look that bad either. And I love ferry trips and this is fun trip with great view.
Denied Boarding (2)
Toronto, March 12th. I should have been home now, but I am waking up at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in a room on the club floor overlooking Toronto Airport, I am ordering myself a full roomservice breakfast and it's all FREE. Fabulous. This is the second thime this year I have been denied boarding my flight, but this time, it's my choice, I noticed how busy it was at the gate and asked if they needed volunteers at Air Canada, and they did. Got an upgrade to Excecutive First Class, 500 dollar and a hotel night with meals. And another night in Toronto. Not bad. And you know what, I am doing it again today so with 1000 dollars in travel vouchers on Air Canada I sure will be back soon.
From Miami back to the cold
Miami to Toronto, March 10th. I am cycling back from North Beach, have a fantastic Cuban meal, return my bike and spend an hour at the Albion Pool, I change, take a cab, back to Miami Airport. My return flight to Miami is at 8 pm, I am on my way back to chilly Toronto. Bye Bye Miami, I will be back!
