Zandvoort, July 14th, BDI=8. I am just back from Ibiza and the weather in the Netherlands is all fabulous again, bit windy, but perfect temperature and the sun feels gorgeous. As usual, the beach is empty and I spent about 4 hours on the beach, bit of reading, glass of wine... the usual. I can't believe how sunny this year has been. Just recently I did some research and found out that since January , the Netherlands had an average of 7 daily hours of sunshine and just in June the daily average was 10 hours. That is a lot! Yes there is the occasional day with some clouds, but the majority of days are perfectly fine for spending them on the beach.
This blog is about beaches and travel. Those are my passion, I am always looking for great beautiful beaches. You'll see me rating beaches with the Beach Day Index (BDI), which includes, weather, water, sand, company, wind, mood, music, drinks and everything that has an influence on the experience. The BDI (Beach Day Index) goes from 1 to 10 for a perfect day.
