Zandvoort, July 14. There's nothing like an early morning on the beach with the Herald Tribune (The European version of the NYT), sun, sea, some wind and my beach club special: The egg-tomato sandwich. If it is quiet, like on this monday morning, it's freshly baked, still warm and so is the egg. It's a bit windy today and not as hot, maybe somewhere in the low 20s, but certainly an agreeable day with low humidity and quiet as usual. The summer season has started so most Dutch people have left the country, making days like this perfect for the Dutch beach. Unfortunately I have to work this afternoon, but the few morning hours here defenitely made for a good start.
